Central heating: how to choose which system toinstall
There are many different types of boiler to choose from, including combi boilers, system condensing boilers and heat only boilers. For a full explanation and recommendation for your own property, you can call us today - we will be happy to provide you with advice on your own situation.
How to maintain your heating systems
There’s nothing worse than being without heating during a cold spell. Ideally you should be able to maintain your boiler so that it never breaks down. Fortunately, there are a number of things you can do yourself to prevent things from going wrong with your heating system:
1.Get your boiler serviced regularly – we recommend an annual service to make sure your boiler is working properly and is not posing a health risk to yourself or your family. You can call today to book a boiler service.
2. In an emergency, you can consult your boiler manual or check the model number and contact the manufacturer for instructions if the instuction manual is not to hand. Many boiler manufacturers will let you download advice from their websites.
3. If your boiler’s condensate pipe is frozen, you can use warm water to melt the ice and lag the pipe with insulating material. This will only provide a temporary fix, however, and you will need to consult a Gas Safe engineer for a more permanent solution.
What if my central heating system breaks down?
If you are struggling with boiler problems it is usually a good move to contact a professional boiler engineer, as consulting a central heating instruction manual is no match for years of experience and training, and a damaged boiler can be a dangerous thing to tamper with.
AT Plumbing and Heating has a team of Gas Safe Registered gas engineers who are qualified to install and maintain boilers. Our engineers are on call 24 hours a day so you won’t be left without heating or hot water for long. You can call us anytime we’re here to help 24/7 365 days a year.
